Morning Pages can pave the way to creative success in so many ways.

‘Morning Pages’ is a term coined by the super inspirational author, Julia Cameron. It is ‘stream of consciousness’ writing, or as I explain to the children during our creative writing lessons- ‘stream of thoughts’ writing.

This means that you write exactly what you think, with no exceptions!

You don’t go back to edit the structure, a sentence or even a word. You don’t worry about spelling, punctuation or grammar.

You let it be, and you carry on writing. Julia Cameron teaches us to write the length of three sides of a notebook each morning. The size of the notebook is entirely irrelevant.

It will serve as a mind dump and is not necessarily going to be something of creative benefit to you.

The advantage comes afterwards. It’s a means to an end.

Once you have your morning pages written for the day, your mind is clean, and your passage to creativity is clear.

My message today is that when you use this style of writing for your ‘real work’, that’s when you unlock the magic of this method.
